Here are a few clips from a recent Video Marketing Tips bootcamp that I did with some Inner Circle students. These are some simple, bite-size Video Marketing tips that can really optimize your YouTube and other Video Sharing platforms and take it to a whole new level!
It’s super important that you don’t forget about the relationship building process when introducing video into your marketing regimen. You’ll develop a lot of raging fans and followers if you practice what I preach. But if you miss this one video marketing tip, you may be sad on how many people get “sick” of posting and comment on your content! People want to feel as if they are apart of something. A simple “Thanks for commenting on my video” marketing tip can go a long way!
One of the most striking branding comparison I’ve ever done for a company was dissecting the differences between Home Depot and Lowes. What does this have to do with this video marketing tip, you ask? One of the noticeable difference in the ambiance between these home-improvement giants was the fact that Lowes often plays soft music in the background, while Home Depot seems “colder,” more “stark” with complete silence. It can make a big difference in your marketing.
One of my favorite ways to include video is into my blog posts (as you can see)…and if it’s more comfortable (like Lowes) to stay longer and enjoy your blog post…that will help you in the long run with better, higher quality traffic. Check out a newer post I made for coming up with Blog Post Ideas.
Who would have thought that an amazing video marketing tip would be to make your bed? No seriously, make sure that your video camera, lighting, and sound is as pleasing as possible. If the background is distracting or audio is low, you’d be amazing at how few people will click on this. Especially if you’re sharing videos to Facebook, a nice looking, well-light video may have a better chance of being clicked on when streaming across the Facebook News feed.
Okay, so this video marketing tip isn’t JUST for YouTube, though I see it there all the time. How many times have you watched something on YouTube and they reference a link but then don’t share that active “http://www…” link in the description box.
Don’t make it more of a hassle for your viewers to go to the site your referencing! Especially if you are linking to differentOnline Affiliate Marketing programs which can have long, drawn out links (which should be masked by a domain, but that’s another blog post). Make sure your links are active, not broken, and this video marketing tip will pay out for you in the long run!
Video Marketing Tip #5 – Just Do It!
Half of the battle in video marketing is simply getting it done. Setting aside the time, getting over any ego or self-consciousness and getting it done! We all know the power of YouTube and what video can do for relationship building, added sales, driving traffic. So grab that flip cam and let’s do this!
Please leave a comment below sharing your own advice and feel free to leave a question if something is stumping you about video. I hope you enjoyed these video marketing tips!
Hey. Thanks for the Free music site. I have been putting music on my videos for awhile, but always used the crappy music that came on my pc. Keep up the good work
It’s tips like these that have allowed you to gain an edge in this industry Rachel! Thanks!
So, here’s a question! You’ve shared so many valuable nuggets to help people who are new to this industry. If you could only share ONE single “Holy-Grail-Type” secret regarding Internet marketing, what would it be? It could be something that would help a new marketer hit the ground running or even something for a marketer who has been in the industry for awhile but hasn’t experienced the type of list growth he hoped for?
Thanks Rachel! You’re the Video Marketing guru – always great tips – and things I seem to forget about or don’t even realize is an option until you mention it.
Yes, it is very sad so many smart marketers are online doing great businesses but when it comes to their video recordings they really need help… I had this desire long time ago to make a few courses but looks like by the time I will find some time no one will need them..
Thanks for these tips! I just started doing videos and didn’t know about the website link.
That should help!
