Tip 120: Creating Momentum in a Network Marketing Business

How do we go about creating momentum in a network marketing business? One of the biggest complaints I hear from networking newbies and mlm vets alike is the lack of duplication and mass momentum in a network marketing business (see video & more below)…

They make excuses, try to reinvent the wheel, create training systems and attempt to automate motivation and team building. But true success and momentum in a network marketing business revolves around your OWN productivity and results than it does with the people on your team. Seem far fetched? Hear me out…

A Network Marketing Business’s Growth Relies on The Pace of the Leader

In a network marketing business, “the pace of the leader is the pace of the pack” have you ever noticed that when you are in a “dry slump” in your business… your team tends to be as well? But as soon as you break that hump your team awakens with you? I don’t know how they know, but they know. So continue spending 80% of your time prospecting and recruiting so that you are setting a good example to follow.

Creating momentum in a network marketing business is all about the NEW. It’s not about the old reps, the vets, and the seasoned superstars…it’s about diving down and finding those brand new distributors and helping them earn their first few paychecks.

When your team sees that your constantly promoting, even as an established leader, it provides great authenticity and integrity to your messaging. If you are telling them to go out and prospect and promote to build a network marketing business but you aren’t doing the same… how can they trust you? Remember, your reps will do what you DO, not what you SAY! So lead by example and keep accountable to the 80/20 rule!

Here is where you want to spend 80% of your time:

- Building your list

- Making contacts

- Inviting to presentations

- 3 Way Calls

- Following up & Enrolling

Thirdly, to provide the best amount of support and team feel, create a community (Facebook Groups are my choice and favorite) that allows your team members that are stretched all across the country or globe to connect, make friends, keep accountable and relish in victories.

Building a network marketing business doesn’t have to be difficult…but if your check isn’t growing… it’s important to look at YOUR OWN production before blaming anybody else in your organization.
